REFERRALS: Which Dentists are taking new patients ?
Dentists do not cap their intake of patients like medical doctors. The best way to find a dentist is to ask friends, relatives, co-workers for the names of their dentists and if they are happy with them. A personal reference for a dentist is better than going thru the Calgary Business Directory, or the ‘Yellow pages’.
EMERGENCY: Where can I have an emergency Dental Problem attended to ?
Calgary Business Directory, or the ‘Yellow pages’, you will find a section that lists ‘Dental Emergency services’.

This section is immediately following the listings of individual dentists and dental practice offices.

FINANCIAL: I am unemployed and need emergency dental treatment, where can I go ?
Children are covered under Calgary Health Services up to the age of 18, as long as their family qualifies.

Adults who are unemployed and have very little money may qualify for help from Calgary Urban Project Society (C.U.P.S) (403) 221-8780

FINANCIAL: Which Dentists offer Payment Plans, Discounted Services, or Free Dentistry ?
This information is not managed from this office and is not available.

If a dentist chooses to accept payments, charge less, or do the odd treatment for no cost, it is done within the privacy of his office and at his discretion.

Children are covered under Calgary Health Services up to the age of 18, as long as their family qualifies.

COMPLAINTS: How can I make a formal complaint about a dentist, or dental office?
It is best to discuss the problem directly with dentist / dental office to seek a resolution.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome of a direct complaint, contact the Alberta Dental Association and College (ADA&C). This association is the governing body of all Alberta Dentists. You will be required to submit a letter detailing the problem and what specific attempts have been made to work it out.
